I took off the old crappy mufflers and made my own exhaust system. I bought some heat wrap tape (black) to cover the resonators and put chrome turn out tips on each. The result was a very unique look with a nice throaty sounding growl. Loud pipes save lives! Plus they look a lot cooler now.
In the meantime I am working on a sissy bar. It is taking a long time to do it since I am learning to weld and doing all of the work in my apartment. Crazy, yes I know. Its amazing that I haven't caught the building on fire!
Feel free to add a comment to this blog and send me a note if you have questions on what I am doing.

EXTRA PARTS!!!!

So now I have a bunch of extra parts:
- front axle
- 5 original turn signals
- 2 rotors
etc etc.

Does anyone need these? I am happy to get rid of them.

Ok, for today I will show you some of the changes I have made to the bike. The tank I originally went from the metallic black to a white inlay with blue pinstriping. After looking at it I thought it sucked and looked too much like motocross so I stripped it down and filled the dents from the previous owner. I repainted it black then airbrushed a light coat of transparent blue cobalt. The pictures do not show the blue very well but it is there. It turned out to be a cool colour as it changes in the sunlight. At different times of the day it can look black, blue or a deep purple. I still need to do a lot of buff and polishing but the paint is done. How did I paint it when I live in an apartment?? Well I changed my bathroom into a spray booth. Crazy I know but no crazier than welding and grinding on my patio. What is amazing is that I have not received any complaints from my neighbours…yet.
